The Richard and Jeannette Allsopp Centre for Caribbean Lexicography, under the auspices of the Department of Language, Linguistics and Literature at The University of the West Indies-Cave Hill Campus, cordially invites you to the Tenth Annual Richard Allsopp Memorial Lecture, a significant milestone in honouring the legacy and contributions of Professor Richard Allsopp.

This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Professor Cristiano Furiassi, from the University of Turin, on the topic “Richard Allsopp’s ‘Amateur’ Sources: Reviving Barbadian Folklore”. This event will be held in person and will also be live-streamed on Zoom from 6:00 pm (AST) / 5:00 pm (EST) for those unable to join us in person on campus.

Let us celebrate together a decade of recognising Professor Allsopp’s enduring influence in the fields of Lexicography and Linguistics. This year’s lecture promises to be a poignant reflection on his work and its impact on our community. If you will be present in Barbados, we will be especially pleased to have you join us in the Cynthia Wilson Arts Lecture Theatre on campus.

Please find below a copy of your invitation; if you click HERE, it will take you directly to the Zoom session. We look forward to commemorating this significant occasion with you. We encourage you to share this invitation widely to any mailing lists or social media outlets so that we can continue to spread his outstanding work.
